Some Ministry employees are so affected by it that they are unable to do their jobs, or burst into tears at their desks, or any number of other extreme reactions. Morale at the Ministry is very low, and even Minister Shacklebolt is noticeably affected. People start whispering that it's like being around a Dementor, and rumors start that there are Dementors in the Ministry under Invisibility spells, or maybe potions in everyone's coffee. Any business that has to go through the Ministry at this point is extremely slowed down. Healers from St. Mungo's are brought in to investigate the problem, and in turn they start feeling hopeless themselves.

Gossip:  NCHANT breaking up. Dustin plans to goes solo.

Books: Amortentia releases Broken by Angelica Vermoore, a romance novel about Rosalie Garner, a cursebreaker who is hired to remove all the curses and wards from the abandoned home of a Dark Wizard who hasn't been seen since the end of the war. But when she reads the wizard's journals, she finds her falling more and more in love with him, only to find herself in danger when he returns to his house in the middle of the night. He turns out to have been a good guy set up by the people who had hired her--the real Dark Wizards--and she must prove his innocence and their guilt to finally win his freedom and his love. Over all, it's a pretty engaging plot, even if the writing itself is only so-so, but packed with several unnecessary sex scenes, which Vermoore is known for in her novels.
